Smooth Glass and Textured Stone in a Lincoln Park Bathroom

SCOPE: update a guest bathroom by replacing the tub with a walk-in shower

A guest bathroom in a Lincoln Park townhouse was in dire need of updating. The lighting was dim, the vanity was too low and the tub was never used. The first priority was to replace the bathtub with a walk-in shower complete with a bench and storage niche. Sliding glass doors keep this small space feeling open and light.

Mosaic glass tile in shades of teal adds an interesting contrast to the muted, stone-like porcelain tile on the floor and walls. Penny round tiles on the shower floor add another shape and texture to the mix, while providing a slip-free surface.

Despite its size, the guest bathroom now feels bigger, brighter and luxurious.
