It’s Time for Tile!

Tile time is one of my favorites! Because it comes in so many sizes, shapes, colors, textures and materials, it is the perfect medium in which to create a custom look. A few of my favorite tile lines are highlighted in the projects below. Enjoy and reach out if you need anything!

Kitchen Renovation in Lincoln Park
One of the last things (and the most anticipated) to be installed is the backsplash tile. Tozen from Lunada Bay is a handmade glass tile crafted to resemble watercolor. It is offered in many different colorways and shapes. A love of color led the homeowners to select “Xenon”, a mix of sage green, dark orange and golden yellow. This combination brings the color scheme together perfectly.

Muted sage green cabinets are highlighted by an interspersing of natural walnut.

Main Bathroom Renovation in Niles
While waiting for the vanity to arrive, the rest of the bathroom has been completed and work has moved on to the hall bathroom. The “Grace Collection” from WOW tile was chosen for its mid-century feel which complements the architecture of the house. Its oval and rectangular shapes in matte or glossy and many colors allow a very customized design which was also appealing to the home owner.

A wall mounted toilet will be accompanied by a floating vanity in Walnut.

The front of the tub and the shower walls are a focal point in matte teal ovals.

Main Bathroom Renovation in Frankfort
This large bathroom in Chicago’s south suburbs will need lots of tile! Some of the designs and colors in consideration are shown above. A full wall of large porcelain tile behind the shower and tub wall will create a warm, seamless look. The shower floor and bench will be covered in a mosaic tile which helps prevent slipping.

A large free standing bathtub will be a comfortable, peaceful place to relax as well as a sculptural focal point of the bathroom.

A long vanity with a medicine cabinet on its counter and tall cabinet at the end will provide lots of much needed storage.

Before
The bathroom is outdated and despite its large size, feels cramped. The lighting isn’t adequate and the shower enclosure is flimsy.

Stay tuned to see the transformation as it starts next year!
